MSF donates 710 kilogrammes of medical supplies to assist wounded patients across South Lebanon and Beirut

Following the attacks in Lebanon on 17 September, where close to 2,800 people were wounded according to the Ministry of Public Health, MSF immediately reached out to health actors including hospitals to provide support.

We donated 710 kilogrammes of medical supplies to three hospitals in South Lebanon and Beirut. This comes to supplement the 10 tonnes of medical supplies MSF previously prepositioned in hospitals across the country for emergencies, of which some were used to respond to last night's influx of wounded in Baalbek, Nabatieh, and other parts of Lebanon.

The donations aim to support the Lebanese health system in treating the huge numbers of wounded who required immediate care and will need longer-term care.

We remain committed to support the health system where needed, and we are in touch with the authorities to determine the nature of further support.
