DRC - Masisi hospital hit again by stray bullet, wounding a medical worker

In North Kivu’s Masisi territory, armed clashes with the M23/AFC continue unabated, notably in the Masisi and Mweso health zones. On Sunday, a member of the Ministry of Health's staff was wounded by a stray bullet inside Masisi’s General Referral Hospital supported by MSF.

Thousands of people had once again flocked into the Masisi hospital and the MSF base to seek protection. But since January, several people have been injured or killed in or near the hospital. We call for the respect of medical facilities by all belligerents!

In Mweso, armed clashes are a source of concern for the safety of staff and patients. The hospital, supported by MSF, has seen a significant increase in the number of wounded and is also receiving displaced people.
