Gaza: Incident at Al Aqsa Hospital, Deir al-Balah

On May 17, eleven wounded people arrived at Al-Aqsa Hospital’s emergency department after an Israeli air strike reportedly hit a community kitchen site in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza. At least three Palestinians were killed.

Three patients were referred later to the MSF field hospital in Deir al-Balah. They are in stable condition and staying under observation.

Despite the so-called ceasefire, these attacks continue across the Gaza Strip, impacting civilians and humanitarian infrastructure.

Last week, MSF teams in northern Gaza activated a mass casualty response after an Israeli tank strike injured at least 12 people, including a child and a pregnant woman.

MSF reiterates its call on all parties to respect the ceasefire and ensure the protection of civilians, medical facilities, humanitarian workers, and sites providing essential aid and food assistance.
