MSF responds to violence in Syria's coastal areas

10 March 2025 - Following days of violence in western Syria which left hundreds of people killed and injured, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has delivered trauma kits with vital medical items to hospitals in Latakia, Baniyas, Tartus, and Jisr al Shughur, in collaboration with the health authorities.

Our teams in Syria will also be opening a new project to support the emergency room at Tartus hospital, providing medicines and training for mass casualty incidents.

We are in continuous discussions with the health authorities and hospitals in northern and western Syria to provide additional support should it be required.

MSF is calling for the protection of civilians, medical facilities, patients, and health care workers.
