MSF urges UK Government to reverse aid cuts

19 March 2026 - Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is deeply concerned by the UK Government’s decision to push ahead with drastic cuts to Official Development Assistance (ODA). While we recognise the intention to prioritise “fragile and conflict‑affected states,” these are exactly the places that will be hit hardest.

MSF UK urges the Government to reverse the cuts and commit to an aid strategy that protects people most at risk.

Liz Harding, MSF UK Humanitarian Representative, said, "We don't receive government funding, but many organisations we work alongside do. As these cuts land, the gaps are widening fast. In Sudan, Gaza and South Sudan, people already facing conflict, displacement and disease are losing access to even basic lifesaving services. The UK must urgently rethink these cuts - lives depend on it.
