Testimony from MSF's Project Coordinator returning from northern Gaza

About a week before the resumption of Israeli hostilities in Gaza that started on 18 March, and have now killed more than 700 people in a week, according to the Ministry of Health, we interviewed Sarah Vuylsteke, MSF project coordinator returning from northern Gaza.

Since the end of January 2025, the MSF team based in Gaza City carried out assessments of the destroyed medical facilities in northern Gaza, and started mobile clinic activities in Jabalia and Beit Hanoun to provide primary healthcare to populations in dire need of medical care.

While the humanitarian situation remained critical in Gaza during the ceasefire and after more than 15 months of war, a renewed blockade on all supplies for almost a month and the resumption of bombardments has now reversed the marginal improvements made during that time.

Since the resumption of bombardment and the evacuation orders issued by Israel for the areas concerned, it has been impossible for our teams to maintain the mobile clinics in Jabalia and Beit Hanoun.

MSF calls once again for the immediate restoration of the ceasefire and for the resumption of the entry of essential aid and basic supplies, which people in Gaza desperately need.
